The SystemWeaver® Platform

The SystemWeaver platform is part of the implementation of the SystemWeaver concept.

The SystemWeaver platform is an infrastructure used for:

  • maintaining consistency in design information
  • distribution of consistent design information
  • integration of design processes

Instead of storing documents that contains information of the different "system building blocks" or components, SystemWeaver connects the information to the components themselves.

SystemWeaver uses one source of information – a distributed database - from which different views of the systems can be generated. The engineer only needs to enter information once and the information can then be viewed from different aspects. This cannot be achieved with a document centric development methodology, or even the hybrid model/document implementation of model based development as practised today!

A SystemWeaver Shuttle/Client can be any development tool creating and using design information.

Information is accessed through the SystemWeaver API, ensuring data integrity and security. The API also encapsulates the SystemWeaver Meta Model.

The platform is a multi-tier solution (client-server) with support for access control, secure communication, server and client side cache as well as support for powerful configuration management.
